Talk To A Provider

We’re glad to see you’re interested in our provider-delivered Single-Session Consultation (SSC)! This SSC is a brief, 50-minute consultation, where healthcare workers will meet with one of our trained providers to learn skills and strategies to help address a specific problem or concern in their life. All SSIs are evidence-based, private, and require no prior enrollment or sign-up.

We are currently in an evaluation stage of this Health Services and Resources Administration (HRSA) funded project to find out whether these supports are helpful to health care workers and trainees at Stony Brook Medicine.

The Single-Session Consultation

Schedule an Appointment
Sessions are intentionally designed to be brief, helping you work through a specific problem. Such problems may include:
  • Feeling stressed
  • Struggling with a coworker
  • Feeling burnt out, grief
  • Compassion fatigue
  • And more.
Chronic concerns might be better addressed in long-term therapy (e.g., chronic depression, unresolved trauma, abusive relationships, etc.).

If you aren’t sure if your concern can be addressed at the S3 Center, feel free to give it a try!
WE can work together to come up with a plan to get you the help you need.

Whether you’re looking to drop-in right now, or schedule a session right before your shift starts tomorrow, we’ll have something for you!
